We sincerely thank the workshop leads for donating their time and expertise to teach these workshops!
Please use the Workshop Form to sign up for the workshop(s) you will attend. Supplies will be provided, so you only need to bring yourself and a positive attitude!
All workshops will be on Friday, August 1, 2025 in Meeting Room 102.
Zines for Kids & Teens
Lead: Julia Vanchiere
Time: 12:30-1:30 pm
For: ages 8-17
Description: An introductory workshop for zinester youth!
Minizines
Lead: Ida Aronson
Time: 2:00-3:00 pm
For: ages 10 to adult
Description: Learn how to turn one sheet of paper into a mini book by simply folding and cutting in the right places! The focus of this workshop will be how to assemble the zine structure.
Joyful Zines with Athena
Lead: Athena Scott
Time: 3:30-4:30 pm
For: ages 10 – adult
Description: This workshop is to help create content for your zines. Having a little knowledge on how to assemble a zine is helpful, but not required.
“In my workshop, I will be helping people to make a zine that celebrates their joy. I have noticed a growing emphasis in my own artistic circles on enjoying the process of art creation and exploring one’s own interests and everyday lives in artwork. This workshop concept was inspired by such work from my local community in Ruston, particularly a zine titled “Things I Like” by Chlese Henderson. Therefore, my workshop will be a space for people to come together, have fun with the artistic process, and explore joy. Whether this means making a zine about your happiest memories, a zine with your favorite aesthetics or colors, or a zine about your favorite characters, it will all be centered around the goal to create something that you love and that brings you joy.” –Athena Scott
Break a Nib: Collage Comics

Time: 6:00-8:00 pm
For ages: ages 15 – adult
Description: This workshop is to help create content for your zines. Having a little knowledge on how to assemble a zine is helpful, but not required. This workshop will focus on creating comics using collage techniques!
